Description: This short, introductory series was designed so you can try us out and get a better idea of what we’re all about! This fast-paced and powerful workshop series jam-packs just about everything it means to be an MPowered Christian into a 4-week study! New and experienced Christians alike are sure to walk away with a clearer understanding of, and a deeper appreciation for, their God, their salvation, and their purpose. Workshop Outline:
Week 1: Christian Beliefs & Spiritual Foundations
(Believing the Gospel)
In this lesson we will take an in-depth, yet broad look at the big picture of why we are Christians. We will analyze who God is, in both character and being, and gain a better understanding of how the Holy Trinity works: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. We will examine how and why the creation was made, why humans were created, and how we fell away from God. We will discover the purpose of the Law and how it relates to a right standing with God. Then we will delve into the reason Jesus came, and the necessity of his crucifixion and bodily resurrection. We will discuss what the gospel is and what it is not. We will better understand and appreciate the fine balance between love and justice, and law and grace. Finally, we will discuss why both genuine repentance and saving faith in Jesus are essential.
Week 2: New Identity in Christ, MPowered by God
(Becoming a Disciple)
In this lesson we will learn what it means to become transformed and born again. We will probe the scriptures and examine how the Bible guides us on how to be God’s people. We will briefly discuss why the Bible is reliable. We will talk about how the Holy Spirit indwells believers, seals them until the day of redemption, and provides them assurance of salvation. We will discuss the 10 Commandments, as well as Christian ethics, character, and way of life. We will examine the purpose of why we need to become disciples and learn how we grow as disciples, become more like Christ, and serving others like he did.
Week 3: Living as Light in the Darkness
(Being a Disciple)
In this lesson we learn what it means to be “called out” as God’s people. We explore the dynamics of sin and evil in the flesh, world, and spiritual realm and explore how they wage war against the Spirit of God. We will discuss the nature of the body, mind, and soul and talk about how the Holy Spirit indwells and empowers believers. We will cover spiritual warfare basics and learn how to defend ourselves from the enemy and be victorious. We will review the roles of the church, the Bible, prayer, fellowship, and study and using them to become stronger disciples with a fully-integrated Christian lifestyle.
Week 4: Being a Disciple that Creates Disciples
In this lesson we further explore what it means to be a disciple. We will dive into how Christian’s are to edify themselves by examining the fruits of their life and where to turn for guidance. We will discuss the fruits of the Spirit including love, patience, and self-control and learn some practical ways to become submissive to the Spirit. We will explore several spiritual disciplines including prayer, Bible reading, study, worship, and service. We will examine the roles and responsibilities of being a disciple of Christ including stewardship, evangelism, and missions. We will also briefly review our other workshops in other areas of interest for further study.

Live Workshop Details: This course is introductory in nature but it is also theologically rich and packed with biblical reading.Please come alert and ready to learn. Pre-paid admission only. Must bring receipt to attend live workshop. Payment deadline recommendation is one week prior to the start of the workshop. For Live Workshops participants, study guide worksheets will be provided upon arrival for you to follow along with the presentation, to take notes on, and provide links to supplementary resources. Please bring a pen and a pad/book to write on top.
